SunTrust Bank Exceeds ₦50 Billion Recapitalisation Target Following Successful Private Placement
SunTrust Bank Nigeria Limited has surpassed the ₦50 billion recapitalisation benchmark following the completion of its private placement exercise.
Industry sources indicate that the Bank’s total paid-up capital now stands at approximately ₦51.1 billion, exceeding the regulatory minimum threshold. The capital raise was achieved through a structured private placement programme involving a combination of institutional and private investors.
The capital target was met ahead of the March 31, 2026 deadline.
Market observers note that the successful capital raise strengthens the Bank’s capital base and positions it more firmly within the evolving regulatory landscape of Nigeria’s banking sector.
With the recapitalisation threshold now surpassed, attention is expected to shift toward operational execution and growth strategy.
