Chukwuma Soludo, Governor of Anambra State, on Monday, joined political leaders and party faithful in Ebonyi State for the grand endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office.
The event, which attracted Nentawe Yilwatda, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), David Umahi, Minister of Works and members of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, as well as other stakeholders, was held at the Pa Ngele Oruta Township Stadium in Abakaliki.
Speaking at the gathering, Governor Soludo said he attended the event in solidarity with Francis Nwifuru, Governor of Ebonyi State, and in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Administration.
“I have come in solidarity, and I bring you good news and greetings from Anambra State, the Light of the Nation. I also bring you greetings from the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA)”, he said.
The Anambra State governor described Nwifuru as a friend and brother, noting that he was pleased to identify with Ebonyi people as they endorsed President Tinubu for another term.
“I am here on a solidarity march with my brother and friend, Governor Francis Nwifuru. Today, you are endorsing the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and I have come to stand with you because progressives are walking together.
“It is time for progressives to unite. Yes, there are challenges, but progressives across the country must come together to support the foundational work President Tinubu is doing for Nigeria,” he stated.
Soludo disclosed that APGA would soon convene to formally make its position known, expressing confidence that progressive-minded Nigerians would rally behind Tinubu’s leadership.
According to him, the South-East must move beyond what he described as the “politics of lamentation” and embrace a new era of constructive engagement and development.
“To Ndigbo, enough of the politics of lamentations. We must now move from the alliance for protest to the alliance for progress; from protest to partnership for prosperity for the Igbo people.
“We must unite as a people and as neighbours. We must not waste our votes again. We must channel our energies towards securing greater opportunities and development for our region and the country”, Governor Soludo said.
Francis Nwifuru, Governor of Ebonyi State, assured Nigerians that the APC would not lose any single seat to the opposition come 2027.
The endorsement rally featured political leaders from across the South-East and beyond, who commended President Tinubu’s administration and pledged support for his re-election bid.
