The management of Skyewise Group has announced plans to establish an automobile assembly plant in Edo State as part of its expansion strategy in Nigeria’s automotive sector.
Elvis Abuyere, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, disclosed this on Monday, April 4, 2026, during a media chat in Benin City.
Abuyere noted that the proposed facility will expand the company’s footprint beyond automobile sales to include local vehicle assembly.
According to him, the move aligns with the company’s long-term vision of delivering excellence while contributing to industrial growth in Edo State.
“Our goal is to go beyond sales to actual vehicle assembly here in Edo. We want to build capacity and create opportunities within the state,” Abuyere said.
He explained that Skyewise Group, which has operated in Nigeria’s automobile market for over 11 years, recently introduced a digital automobile showroom in Edo, an innovation that allows vehicles to be displayed on an elevated floor, reducing logistics stress for customers.
He added that the initiative is designed to cut travel time and costs for buyers who would otherwise source vehicles from major cities like Lagos and Abuja.
“Beyond automobile sales, the company is also investing in youth development through its Skyewise Foundation, which focuses on skills acquisition, entrepreneurship, and financial empowerment.
“We believe the future lies in young people. Over the years, we have empowered more than 1,000 individuals and provided grants and microloans to support small businesses,” he added.
He disclosed that the company disbursed over N20 million in grants last year alone and continues to provide financial support aimed at bridging liquidity gaps for small-scale entrepreneurs.
The Skyewise Group boss stated the company which began operations in Abuja, has since expanded to Lagos and Benin, diversifying into sectors such as real estate, credit management, contract financing, travel and tours, and investment services.
Abuyere posited that the company’s operations are aligned with the Edo State Government’s SHINE Agenda, particularly in the areas of innovation, technology, and economic development.
He also stated that the company’s Benin regional office will be officially commissioned on June 6, 2026, by Governor Monday Okpebholo.
While commending the state government for improving security and creating a more enabling environment, he, however, called on both local and foreign investors to take advantage of emerging opportunities in Edo.
He also urged the Federal Government to strengthen policies that support entrepreneurship, reduce unemployment, and promote economic growth.
“The future of Africa depends on innovation and enterprise. We are positioning Skyewise Group to become a globally recognised brand,” he added.
