Ekweremadu: Senate sends delegation to UK

Lawan loses out as INEC documents list Machina APC Yobe north candidate

The senate has decided to send a delegation to the UK to assist  former deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, and his wife, Beatrice in defence against the charge of organ trafficking.

Ahmad Lawan, the Senate President, announced this decision at the close of the plenary session Thursday. According to the Senate President, “there will be a delegation to London to see distinguished Senator Ike Ekweremadu and his wife.”

“A delegation from the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Senate will leave in the next two days for London for that purpose.” He added.

He pleaded with all federal government institutions to do everything possible to assist the embattled senator and his wife as they do all legally possible to free themselves from detention.

“I want to add that all federal government institutions that can do anything to ensure that justice prevails, in this case, should do so—in particular, the ministry of foreign affairs.”

“It is very critical and important that government institutions provide those services that are required.”

“As for the Nigerian High Commission, we can ask for more, but they have done us proud,” he concluded.
