Rotary Club assists Northern govts in education, health development

Mike Ukachi Nwanoshiri, the newly installed District Governor of Rotary Club District 9127, has outlined his vision for tremendous development in education, maternal and child healthcare in the Northern Region of the Country.

Nwanoshiri’s vision meant to tremendously develop the education and health sectors in the Northern Region of the Country is being undertaken in consonance with Rotary Club’s aim of assisting the Constituted Authorities to develop towns, cities, states, countries and nations of the World.

Speaking during his investiture in Jos, Plateau State, Nwanoshiri, a Rotarian, emphasized the importance of literacy and announced the provision of 2,700 desks for pupils in 16 states across the Northern Nigeria worth N48 million.

In addition to education, the pioneer District Governor, highlighted his administration’s commitment to improving maternal and child healthcare. He stated his plans to provide hospital equipment and renovate four primary healthcarecentres in the District at a cost of N40 million.

Furthermore, the District Governor outlined plans to create an enabling environment for disease prevention among the less- privileged. This includes the procurement of sanitary pads for over 5,000 girls within the District.

Caleb Mutfwang, the Plateau State governor, represented by Ephraim Usman, expressed his administration’s support for Rotary District 9127. He commended the humanitarian work of the Club and noted that the objectives of the District Governor align with his seven-point agenda.

Luke Pampe, guest speaker at the occasion and a a retired lecturer, urged the newly installed District Governor to rule justly. He emphasized that those who rule unjustly often do not succeed.

Pampe also expressed concern about the current state of hunger and poverty in the land, attributing it to the removal of fuel subsidies by President Bola Tinubu. He highlighted the need for good governance and an end to bad leadership.
