ECWA installs new vice president, charges leaders to serve humbly
Meanwhile, the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) has installed Madubuko Chidi Joseph, a new Vice President and inaugurated a trustee with church leaders urging them to embrace humility and servant leadership in the discharge of their responsibilities.
Speaking during the induction ceremony at the ECWA Headquarters in Jos, Plateau State, Benjamin Pokol, a professor, charged the newly installed Vice President and trustee to remain committed to biblical principles and ECWA doctrines.
He specifically urged Madubuko to lead as a servant rather than seek personal privileges, lamenting that many church leaders have departed from Christ’s example by concentrating excessive powers in themselves.
Drawing from 1 Corinthians 9:19–27, Pokol said leaders who serve faithfully attract God’s grace and receive strength to effectively fulfil their assignments.
He also encouraged Christians to live exemplary lives rooted in humility and service.
“Whatever we are in life requires service to God. Being a Christian requires humility,” he stressed.
Pokol, who is the Vice President of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN), prayed for divine grace upon church leaders to enable them to lead faithfully and effectively.
Administering the oath of office, Ayuba Bagat, the ECWA President, formally installed Joseph as Vice President and inaugurated Ezekiel Omidiji as ECWA Trustee for Zone 9 and urged members of the church to continually pray for the leadership to receive God’s grace in carrying out their responsibilities.
In his acceptance speech, Madubuko pledged to serve the church with humility and dedication, stressing the need to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ and improve the welfare of pastors across the denomination.
