The House of Representatives has disowned an interim report released by the minority caucus on alleged alterations in the enacted tax laws, stating that the caucus lacked the authority to investigate or issue findings on behalf of the House.

The minority caucus on Friday said it set up a seven-member ad-hoc committee which investigated the allegations and confirmed that the tax laws were altered after they had been passed by National Assembly.

The Cacus, in its interim report also accused the executive arm of government of illegally altering the enacted tax reform laws, warning that the actions amount to a direct assault on the constitutional authority of the National Assembly
