Reps adjourns plenary till December 12, for 2024 budget defence

Reps direct CBN to pause implementation of 0.5% cybersecurity levy

The House of Representatives has adjourned plenary session till December 12, after deliberating on N27.5 trillion 2024 budget appropriation bill on the general principle of the legislation to allow committees to interface with relevant MDAs.

The motion for adjournment was carried unanimously by the House when the motion was moved by the Deputy Majority Leader, Ali Halims and was adopted.

The House resolved to hold a special session on Friday and Saturday to allow members to discuss the N27.5 trillion budget.

After several lawmakers debated on the bill, it was put to question and the budget passed Second reading without opposition and the Speaker, Abbas Tajudeen announced that the House would adjourn the House till December 12th.
