Orbit Africa, a real estate management company, on Monday unveiled smart city initiatives for subscribers in landed properties in Oke-Oyi town, Ilorin East Local Government Area of Kwara State.

Speaking at the official allocation of land to clients; Wisdom Okoko, the Co-founder of the Orbit Africa, announced that 100 clients had subscribed to the project.

The event, equally featured the presentation of Certificates of Occupancy (C of O) and Survey Plans to land owners in the newly- established Kigali Estate.

Okoko explained that Kigali Estate is designed to complement the Kwara State Government’s Smart City project and initiative, saying that “we have begun developing the estate with essential infrastructure and amenities, including water, electricity, roads, fencing, and security.

“Currently, over 100 clients have subscribed to the project and this marks the first batch of allocations, officially handing over lands to the buyers.”

The property developer emphasised that the initiative aligns with the Ilorin Smart City project, contributing to the State Government’s developmental efforts while addressing housing challenges.

He pointed out that, “through this initiative, we are also encouraging investors from outside Kwara to consider owning homes in the State.”

Okoko highlighted the affordability of the lands, making them accessible to students, youth corps members, and Government workers through installment payment plans, advising that “as long as you can afford N10,000, you can own a property in this estate.

“This company understands the importance of land ownership. Every individual should strive to own a piece of land. However, it shouldn’t be in the traditional way of acquiring land in remote villages.

“Instead, people should buy land from trusted real estate companies like Orbit Africa, where infrastructural development enhances the value of their properties.”

Okoko, however, urged potential investors to transact with reputable real estate firms to avoid being defrauded.

In his reaction, Saliu Odedeji, the Baale of Oke-Oyi, appreciated Orbit Africa for bringing development to the community.

Odedeji, affirmed that Oke-Oyi is known for peaceful coexistence among different tribes, even as he assured the new landowners of harmonious living environment.
