Enoch Adeboye, the general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), on Sunday declared that Nigeria will overcome its insecurity challenges, assuring Christians across the country that “the church will laugh last.” Adeboye, who spoke during his teaching titled “The Master Builder” at the church’s monthly thanksgiving service, urged Nigerians to remain calm, insisting that “evil will not prevail” despite the rising wave of violent attacks.

Addressing millions of worshippers through a service telecast monitored by our correspondent, the revered cleric said the nation’s troubling security realities serve as a reminder that God alone builds and protects His church. According to him, no matter the pressure or threats faced by Christian communities, divine protection remains guaranteed. He emphasised that God’s authority supersedes any human or demonic agenda.

Adeboye’s remarks come against the backdrop of repeated attacks on churches in various parts of Nigeria. In recent years, Christian worship centres have suffered kidnappings, shootings, ransom-related violence, injuries, and deaths as armed groups continue to target religious gatherings. These persistent assaults have heightened fears among congregations, prompting fresh calls for stronger security measures and spiritual intervention.

But Adeboye maintained that believers must not panic. “When God opens a door, nobody can shut it. And when God shuts a door, nobody can open it,” he declared. “So I have good news for you, my children. Put your mind at rest. The gates of hell shall not prevail. Whether the devil likes it or not, the church is going to laugh last.”

The cleric explained that God’s role as “the master builder” guarantees the survival and growth of His church irrespective of challenges. Citing biblical foundations, he reiterated that God has already declared victory for Nigeria.
