Presidency confirms armed robbery attempts at Buhari Chief of Staff’s residence

The presidency on Monday night confirmed an attempted robbery incidence at the official residence of the chief of staff to the President, Ibrahim Gambari.

The incident, which was said to have occurred on Sunday night was described by the senior special assistant to the President, Garba Shehu, as “a foolish attempt”, was also said to have been unsuccessful.
Garba Shehu in his official Twitter handle noted that “ The chief of staff,  Professor Ibrahim Gambari has confirmed that there “was a foolish attempt” to bugle his residence at about 3.00 am this morning, but it turned out to be unsuccessful”
BusinessDay’s checks found that the residence is located within the precinct of the Presidential Villa.  This is a few meters away from the official residence of the President.
Garba Shehu did not however state if any of the bandits were arrested as at the time of filing this report.
Shehu, in the tweet, said the Chief of Staff has assured well-wishers that there is nothing to worry about.
