Police recruits to begin training on Saturday

Police recruits to begin training on Saturday

Successful candidates from the 2022 police recruitment exercise are set to commence their training in various police colleges across the country on Saturday, August 10, 2024. The training period will run from August 10 to August 20.

Ikechukwu Ani, head of press and public relations, Police Service Commission (PSC), confirmed that only candidates who have verified their status on the official Police Recruitment Portal (https://apply.policerecruitment.gov.ng) are expected to report for training.

The management of the police colleges has received the list of these candidates and will only admit those whose names appear on it.

The PSC clarified that the initial recruitment portal, www.policeservicecommission.cloud, has been decommissioned. This decision followed a thorough meeting with police management, where it was agreed that the original portal used from the beginning of the recruitment process should be maintained to ensure fairness, justice, and inclusivity.

“Only candidates whose names appear on the agreed portal or who have received official messages inviting them to report to the colleges will be permitted to begin training,” the statement emphasized.

The PSC is also sending out messages to successful candidates, including specialists, who are scheduled to report for training between September 28 and October 10, 2024.

Hashimu Argungu, chairman of the PSC, urged all candidates to report to their assigned colleges on the specified dates.

He assured that the commission will closely monitor their progress throughout their training to ensure they are adequately prepared to serve the nation and contribute to the ongoing fight against banditry and terrorism.

Argungu also mentioned that PSC staff will be deployed to the colleges to oversee the conduct and disposition of the trainees.

He reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to providing an environment that enables the recruits to give their best in service to Nigeria.

Argungu also congratulated the successful candidates and encouraged them to remain dedicated to their training. He emphasized that their commitment during this period will be crucial in preparing them for the challenges ahead.
