The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has dismissed reports claiming that David Parradang, former Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service was kidnapped and killed.
Instead, the police confirmed that he was found dead in a hotel room in Abuja under unclear circumstances.
In a statement signed by Josephine Adeh, FCT Police Public Relations Officer, the command clarified the sequence of events leading up to Mr. Parradang’s death.

According to the police, on March 3, 2025, at around 12:00 PM, Parradang checked into Joy House Hotel at Area 3 Junction, arriving in a black Mercedes Benz and paying ₦22,000 for a one-night stay.
Later, he instructed a hotel attendant to escort a female guest to his room. The woman reportedly left the premises at approximately 4:00 PM.
However, the former immigration chief remained in his room for the rest of the evening.
According to the Police, concerned for his welfare, a friend who is a military officer tracked him to the hotel in the early hours of March 4. At about 4:00 AM, the officer, alongside the hotel receptionist, accessed the room and found Parradang seated in a chair, unresponsive.
The statement noted that the Durumi Police Division was immediately alerted, and officers secured the scene, documented evidence, and transported the body to the National Hospital for further examination.
The hotel staff is said to be cooperating fully with the investigation.

The Police said that it have launched efforts to locate and arrest the unidentified woman who was last seen with the deceased.
Meanwhile, the police have urged the public and media to refrain from spreading misinformation, particularly claims of a kidnapping, which they say could incite fear and panic.
“The FCT Police Command remains committed to uncovering the truth behind Mr. Parradang’s death and ensuring that justice is served. Investigations are ongoing”, the statement read.
