The Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has urged the people to reject what he called “cloned” version of “Our Road Map to Prosperity”, saying the rival People’s Democratic Party (PDP) had copied the original from the APC.

The PDP has however, laughed at the notion, saying its manifesto was based on Governor Chibuike Amae- chi’s failings.

The APC flag-bearer, Dakuku Peterside, said at the presentation of the ‘Roadmap’ that those who cloned the blueprint had proved that they had no plans for the people.

“They just want to grab power to capture the economy and turn it to their estate,” said Peterside. He told journalists at his campaign organisation headquarters that the APC got hint of the clon- ing and issued a public warning few days before it was done.

He said the one presented by the PDP candidate, Nyesom Wike, was a watered down version, just allegedly lining up what the APC took pains to put together.

Presenting his own version with ease, Peterside said only four points were enough for his years as governor. He said he would build on Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi’s foundations to install what he called transparent and accountable government, institutional rebuilding, food/security, and employment & wealth creation.

Giving insight, the former works commissioner and now member of the Federal House of Representatives said there would be zero tolerance for crime, and to achieve this, there would be close circuit cam- eras everywhere, helicopters to monitor from the air, checks in the creeks, and watch your neighbour initiative.

Under institutional rebuilding, he talked about building additional 250 kilometers of roads in two years to add to the 455 already in existence, pay attention to water transportation, unleash traffic officers and above all, continue with the monorail project to another level.

He said he would replicate the N3.2billion Songhai farm initiative in all parts of the state and create small-holder farms and out-growers scheme to launch a food revolution in the oil state.

He promised to employ 50,000 workers soon after being elected. For employment generation, he promised to boost job creation through agric and aquaculture schemes, the creative industry, to deepen participation of the state in the oil industry to create 50,000 fresh jobs, and tourism development,” he said.

The PDP wondered how a man could talk about cloning his blueprint when it was not registered.
