Oyo Assembly Confirms Ayansiju Lawal As Commissioner

The Oyo State House of Assembly on Monday confirmed Ismaila Ayansiju Lawal, as commissioner nominee forwarded to the state assembly for confirmation by governor Seyi Makinde.

Ayansiju is to replace erstwhile commissioner for the ministry of public works, infrastructures and transport Raphael Afonja, a Professor sacked by Governor Seyi Makinde.

Ayansiju, while giving a brief address before his confirmation commended the house for its cohesion, cooperation, and manner the legislative arm synergizes with the executive arm.

During the confirmation which was done during plenary on Monday, the lawmakers charged the new commissioner to discharge his duties with utmost diligence for the good of the state.

The legislators who set aside their political parties affiliations in their various submissions before the confirmation expressed confidence in the credibility and reputation of the new commissioner to deliver on whatever portfolio he is deployed.

They commended governor Makinde for carefully selecting Ayansiju who was described as a grassroots mobilizer and astute administrator.

The Speaker, Adebo Ogundoyin however, joined his colleagues who had sought the support of the house for the commissioner designate to take a bow and go.

The house, therefore, confirmed Ismaila Ayansiju Lawal as Commissioner and was subsequently asked to take a bow and go after which his confirmation was approved.
