Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde

The Oyo State AntiCorruption Agency (OYSACA) has commenced investigations into petitions sent to it by members of the public on corruption.

The agency is to investigate all petitions and commence prosecution of the individuals involved at the end of the probe.

In a statement issued by the chairman of the agency, Justice Eni Esan in Ibadan, the agency added that the activities of OYACA will plug holes in the government purse and stop the act of mismanagement of office by public office holders and government workers.

Eni Esan, however, enjoined the general public to continue to forward their petitions to the agency in order to help the government find a solution to the scourge of corruption in the society.

Meanwhile, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has declared that his administration will launch a task force to implement the ban on open grazing in the state within the next six to eight weeks.

Speaking at a town hall meeting convened by Makinde in commemoration of his second year in office at the Soun Ogunlola Hall, Oja-Igbo in Ogbomoso, the governor re-echoed the position of the Southern Governors on open grazing of wandering cattle, saying that open grazing is illegal in the state.

“In Oyo State, open grazing is against the law. The implementation plan will come out within the next six to eight weeks. So, to my brother from Oriire (one of the speakers at the event that resides in the state) who spoke about open grazing, the task force will not be for Oriire alone, it will cut across Oyo state.

“So, whoever goes against the law in this state will face the wrath of the law and that is just it”, he said.
