Osun Police warn against unlawful gathering

Police to enforce VAPP Law to curb gender-based violence in Imo

The Osun State Police Command has warned individuals or groups planning to stage unlawful gatherings, saying it will not tolerate any attempts to disrupt the peace and security in the State.

SP Yemisi Opalola, the Police Public Relations Officer, in a statement made available to newsmen in Osogbo on Wednesday, said the Command is aware of plans by some unscrupulous elements to disrupt the peace in the State following the suspension of the #EndBadGovernance protest on August 6, 2024.

The Command assured the public that it will not allow mischief makers to truncate the peaceful atmosphere of the State urging the citizens to remain calm and go about their lawful activities.

The police also called on the public to report any unlawful gatherings in any part of the State.

It would be recalled that the organisers of the #EndBadGovernance in Osun suspended its peaceful protest on August 6, 2024, in honour of the Osun Osogbo festival.
