Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Sunday Ndidi, father of Wilfred Ndidi, Super Eagles captain who reportedly died in a fatal road accident in Umunede, Ika North East Local Government Area of the state.
Governor Oborevwori in a condolence message issued by Festus Ahon, his chief press secretary (CPS), described the passing as sudden, painful and a great loss, not only to the Ndidi family but also to the Umunede community and the entire Ika Nation.
He extended his heartfelt condolences to Wilfred Ndidi, members of the bereaved family, and the people of Umunede and urged them to take solace in the impactful life and legacy of the deceased.
Governor Oborevwori prayed that God grants the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss and grants the soul of the departed eternal rest.
In the same vein, Delta State football Association, under the leadership of Godwin Adode, has expressed deep sorrow and heartfelt condolences to Wilfred Ndidi.

In a condolence message issued on behalf of the association, Adode described the loss as painful and deeply personal, noting that the death of a father is one of life’s most difficult experiences.
“I can only imagine what Wilfred Ndidi is going through at this moment the pain, shock, and profound sense of loss that comes with losing someone so close and dear as a father.”
He urged the Super Eagles skipper to remain strong in the face of the tragedy, drawing comfort from the lives Pa Ndidi touched and the legacy he left behind.
“We ask him to be strong for those Pa Ndidi has left behind, and to take solace in the fact that his father lived a life of service and honour.”
“We pray that God grants Wilfred Ndidi, his family, and all those mourning the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss, and that the Almighty comforts them at this trying time.
The association also prayed for the peaceful repose of the soul of the deceased, while reaffirming its solidarity with the Ndidi family during the period of mourning.
