Nigeria’s oil and gas sector is set for a boost as the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) increases the number of oil blocks available for bidding in the 2024 licensing round.
Gbenga Komolafe, the chief executive of the Commission, made this known at the pre-bid conference today in Lagos.

Initially, the oil blocs up for the bid were 12. However, at the time of filing this report, Komolafe did not give a figure for the new blocs.
