Nigeria Television Authority (NTA), a government-sponsored agency, is still actively tweeting despite an order by the Nigeria Broadcasting Corporation to every broadcaster to deinstall the Twitter handle.
The last tweet by the television house was made at 11:50am on Monday morning, hours after the NBC released its statement in which it claimed the order was in line with Section 2(1) of the NBC Act, which entrusts it with a responsibility to ensure strict adherence to the national laws, rules, and regulations.

Also important to note that the government had also threatened to prosecute people downloading VPN, a Virtual Private Network (VPN) with the aim to bypass the ban on Twitter. NTA which has its headquarters in Abuja, would ordinarily be tweeting from Nigeria and the tweets it has been making on Monday only confirms that it also bypassed the government order on VPN.
