As part of ongoing effort to mitigate rising insecurity in Kwara State, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and the Nigeria Police Force have reaffirmed their commitments to deeper collaboration and unified action against criminal elements threatening the peace of the state.
This was known when Umar Mohammed, the Kwara State Commandant, hosted Adeyemi Ojo, the new Commissioner of Police, during a courtesy visit to the state command Headquarters in Ilorin the state capital.
Umar in his welcome remarks, described the visit as timely and strategic, coming at a moment when security agencies must close ranks to tackle increasingly sophisticated threats.

He raised concerns over the surge in kidnapping and related crimes, emphasizing that the time for isolated approaches is over.
No single agency can address the current security realities alone. We must build a united front, share intelligence, and execute joint strategies to restore safety and stability across the state.” he stated
Ojo, the Kwara State Commissioner of Police, commended the NSCDC for its proactive stance and affirmed the command’s readiness to work side-by-side with the corps.
He emphasized the need for synergy between security agencies and the necessity to eliminate inter-agency rivalry, particularly among junior personnel, to foster a culture of collaboration, mutual respect, and cooperation.
