Miva Open University, Nigeria’s first online university has commenced acceptance of applications and offering admission to its Bachelor of Sciences (BSc) degree programmes for entry into the September 23 cohort.

According to Sim Shagaya, founder of uLessonApp, the parent organisation that owns Miva Open University, who disclosed via his Twitter handle that students are not required to pay any fees to apply and no Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), and candidates are only required to apply with their West African Examination Council’s certificate (WAEC).

“Apply without any fees. Enjoy a cost-free application process at no charge. No UTME required. Apply using just your WAEC/NECO result for a streamlined process.

You only need to submit a copy of your O’Level result. The result must include a minimum of five credits in the course-relevant subjects (including English and Mathematics) in not more than two sittings.”

Recently the federal government through the National Universities Commission (NUC) gave the Miva Open University the license to operate as an open university in Nigeria.
