Nigeria’s rapidly growing cosmetic healthcare industry has gained a new entrant as CGE Healthcare opened a flagship aesthetic medicine facility in Lagos, betting on rising demand for safe, professionally managed wellness and cosmetic procedures.

The facility, launched by Chidinma Akpa Pheoby, aesthetic surgeon and healthcare entrepreneur, marks a significant investment in a sector that has seen increasing consumer interest as more Nigerians seek cosmetic enhancement, wellness treatments and body confidence services delivered under medical supervision.

Located in Lagos, the new centre is equipped with advanced treatment suites, modern recovery spaces and patient-focused care infrastructure designed to align with international standards in aesthetic medicine.

The opening reflects a broader shift within Nigeria’s healthcare and wellness landscape, where consumers are becoming more conscious of safety, quality and post-treatment care amid growing demand for cosmetic procedures. Industry observers say the trend is creating opportunities for healthcare providers that can combine medical expertise with global best practices.

Speaking at the launch, Pheoby said the facility was established to bridge the gap between international standards and accessible local care.

“CGE Healthcare was built on one simple belief: everyone deserves to feel safe, confident and cared for. Every detail of this facility was intentionally designed to deliver excellence, compassion and a patient experience that inspires trust. This is more than a clinic; it is a new home for confidence,” she said.

The event attracted healthcare professionals, business leaders, celebrities and industry stakeholders, highlighting growing public interest in aesthetic and wellness services. Guests toured the facility and received an overview of its technology, treatment offerings and patient-care model.

Among attendees were Flourish Peters, musician Timi Dakolo, reality television star Phyna, actor Elozonam and social personality Prettymike, alongside other guests who commended the facility’s emphasis on safety and innovation.

Nigeria’s aesthetic medicine market remains relatively underdeveloped compared with more mature markets in Europe, North America and parts of Asia. However, rising disposable incomes among urban consumers, increasing awareness through social media and a growing preference for medically supervised cosmetic procedures are driving expansion in the sector.

Healthcare operators are increasingly positioning themselves around patient safety and clinical standards as concerns persist about unregulated cosmetic treatments and procedures carried out outside accredited medical environments.

Pheoby said CGE Healthcare intends to differentiate itself through a patient-first approach that prioritises safety, transparency and comprehensive aftercare.

The company’s entry comes as Lagos continues to strengthen its position as Nigeria’s leading hub for private healthcare, wellness and lifestyle services. Analysts say investments in premium healthcare facilities could help reduce outbound medical spending by providing more specialised treatment options locally.

By combining advanced medical technology, trained healthcare professionals and structured recovery support, CGE Healthcare is seeking to capture a share of Nigeria’s expanding wellness economy while setting a higher benchmark for aesthetic medicine services in the country.
