The Nigerian University of Technology and Management (NUTM) has been granted official university licence along with the accreditation of several undergraduate degree courses by the federal executive council (FEC).

The approval which came on Monday May15, 2023 followed the recommendation of the National Universities Commission (NUC), the apex regulator responsible for assessing and recommending the establishment of all higher educational institutions offering degree programs in Nigeria.

Babs Omotowa, founding president of NUTM, said the licence and programme accreditation underscores the institution’s commitment to bring academic excellence and a cutting-edge science and technology ecosystem to Africa.

“The rigorous national licensing and accreditation process assures NUTM’s quality and accountability and positions the institution to continue to deliver industry led curriculums and attract top-tier faculty and best-in-class students.

NUTM will begin to launch a stream of undergraduate programs starting from September 2023 offering courses across computing, natural sciences, management, and business studies. Founded in 2019, NUTM is a pioneering higher education mission to identify and train the next generation of leaders and changemakers in technology and management for Africa.

It is set up for excellence in technology and management and to become a hub for best-in-class learning and research. It will focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Management in its academic offerings at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels.
