West Africa Infrastructure Expo and HVACR Nigeria will return to Lagos from April 6 to 8, 2027, as organisers expand the platform with the launch of the West Africa Warehousing & Logistics Expo to tap growing demand in Nigeria’s supply chain and industrial infrastructure sectors.

The new warehousing and logistics-focused event will run alongside the second editions of the infrastructure and HVACR exhibitions at Landmark Centre, Lagos, targeting businesses involved in warehouse management systems, inventory and distribution technology, robotics, conveyors, storage controls and loading solutions.

Organisers said the expansion reflects rapid growth in Nigeria’s logistics and warehousing market, driven by rising consumer demand, e-commerce expansion and increased infrastructure investment.

According to Trace Data Research, logistics costs account for about 23 percent of Nigeria’s gross domestic product, while the Federal Ministry of Transportation’s National Freight and Logistics Policy aims to reduce the figure to below 15 percent by 2029 through coordinated infrastructure development and greater private-sector participation.

“The inaugural editions of West Africa Infrastructure Expo and HVACR Nigeria demonstrated the appetite that exists in Nigeria for focused, commercially driven industry events,” said Josine Heijmans, senior vice president at dmg events.

“We are returning in 2027 with both events and launching West Africa Warehousing & Logistics Expo alongside them,” Heijmans said. “Nigeria’s logistics and warehousing sector is growing rapidly and the demand for solutions across intralogistics, distribution technology and supply chain management is clear.”

The announcement follows the conclusion of the inaugural editions of West Africa Infrastructure Expo and HVACR Nigeria, which drew more than 2,800 industry professionals to Lagos over three days.

The co-located events brought together government officials, investors, contractors, engineers, technology providers and HVACR specialists to discuss Nigeria’s infrastructure investment and project delivery challenges.

Institutions including the African Development Bank, Nigerian Society of Engineers, Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority, LAMATA and Siemens Energy participated in the sessions and exhibitions.

More than 20 sessions were held across the Nigeria Infrastructure Summit, Infra360 and HVACR Talks platforms, attracting over 1,200 attendees.

At the Nigeria Infrastructure Summit, Valerie Agberagba, deputy president of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, called for accelerated infrastructure delivery and increased use of domestic financing tools such as pension funds and Sukuk.

A panel featuring Oluebube Anele, investment and growth funding adviser; Vivien Naidoo, director at Turner & Townsend; Femi Awofala, founder and chief executive officer of The African Catalyst; and Ometere Omoluabi-Davies, regional integration coordinator at the African Development Bank’s Nigeria country department, discussed public-private partnerships, blended finance and investor-ready project structures.

Infra360 sessions focused on integrating waste management into infrastructure planning and the use of Building Information Modelling and Geographic Information Systems to improve project coordination and reduce delivery delays.

Olugbenga Adebola, national president of the Association of Waste Managers of Nigeria, said circular economy practices could help reduce landfill dependence and strengthen collaboration across sectors.

At HVACR Talks, Bassel Anbari, director and regional chair of ASHRAE Region at Large, addressed sustainability, decarbonisation and workforce development in the HVACR industry, while technical discussions covered load calculations, commissioning and Variable Refrigerant Flow system design.

Companies exhibiting at the infrastructure expo included PERI Formwork and Scaffolding Nigeria, Primlaks Industries, KELM Engineering, Esquire Machines, Shubham Tanks and SWARCO Road Marking Systems.

“West Africa Infrastructure Expo connected us directly with the stakeholders driving infrastructure growth across the region,” said Sunil Uplap, chairman and founder of Shubham Tanks and Liners.

At HVACR Nigeria, exhibitors included Thermax, TICA Air Conditioning, Artech2000, Air Master and AHI Carrier.

Kenneth Ozomah, head of marketing at Gree Nigeria, said the exhibition created partnership and growth opportunities across the market.
