Musa Nuhu, the director-general of Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, (NCAA) has said that Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations (Nig.CARs) 2015 which is being amended guarantees that passengers get full refunds when their flights are delayed or cancelled.

Nuhu who waded into the two-day warning strike and pleaded with labour unions to suspend the action explained that airfares refund during flight delays or cancellations have been factored into the ongoing amendment of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations (Nig.CARs) 2015.

The DG disclosed this during an interview on Sunrise Daily live broadcast by Channels Television monitored in Lagos on Tuesday, April 18, 2023.

He said has convened a series of meetings with the unions, starting from April 16, 2023, and another on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, with the Salary and Wages Commission along with all aviation agencies’ chief executive officers and their heads of the finance department.

However, the meeting with the Salaries and Wages Commission was said to be for the examination of their various account books with a view to determining whether or not the increase in salaries being demanded by the unions could be accommodated in their various internally generated revenues (IGRs).

He said the outcome of this meeting would be forwarded to the head of the service of the federation for consideration and approval.
