NDLEA nabs 109 drug traffickers

How ‘tough times’ push more Nigerians into drug trafficking

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Kwara State Command, says it has arrested 109 suspected drug traffickers and seized 48 grams of cocaine between the months of January and April 2021.

Ambrose Umoru, the NDLEA commandant in the state, made the disclosure while declaring open a workshop on the “effects of drug abuse and trafficking on security, social and economic growth of Kwara State”, organised by the agency in Ilorin, the state capital.

He said the agency also seized a total of 331.261 kilograms of assorted drugs and five grams of swinol from the suspects, adding that 46 of the suspects arrested during raid operations who are drug users had been counseled and released.
