NDE trains 36 graduates in Cross River

The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has recruited 36 graduates in Cross River State to undergo the Advanced Training under its Vocational Skill Development Programme.

This is meant to upskill those trained in the Basic Open Apprenticeship Scheme, (B-NOAs).

The graduates were selected two per Local Government Area and the state has 18 local governments.

Flagging off the programme at the Federal Secretariat conference room on Wednesday, the acting director-general Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo who was represented by Godson Izuchukwu (NDE) Abuja said the exercise was being carried out to upgrade those who were already trained in B NOAs in order to sharpen their knowledge in the skill of their choice.

According to him, the two graduates in each of the Local Government Area have been recruited to be trained in trending skill in their locality which include fashion design, aluminium fabrication, hairdressing, and events management among others.
