NASS secures 8 new buses to cushion staff hardship

The National Assembly has donated eight new coaster buses to the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN) through the clerk to the National Assembly (CNA), Magaji Tambawal as transportation palliative measures to cushion the effects of fuel subsidy removal on the staff.

The CNA has also ensured the implementation of the N35,000 wage award for the National Assembly staff to ameliorate the impact of the fuel subsidy removal.

Speaking during the handing over of the vehicles to PASAN, Barau Jibrin the deputy president of the Senate, said the gesture was a demonstration of the commitment of the 10th National Assembly under the chairmanship of Godswill Akpabio, the Senate president to addressing the wellbeing of staff.

He said when the request for the provisions of the buses came to the table of the Senate president.
