Rita Idehai, founder of Ecobarter Company, a Waste Management and Recycling enterprise has been awarded N12 million at the Deji Alli ARM Young Talent Award (DAAYTA) 2024 competition.
Ecobarter Company utilises technology to collect and repurpose several types of waste into valuable resources for industrial and consumer applications.
The competition, which was held virtually on April 19th, 2024 showcased exceptional talent and creativity, particularly highlighting women entrepreneurs who have excelled in leadership roles.
According to the organisers, out of 750 applications, 12 businesses were selected to participate in the finals with seven businesses chosen to benefit from DAAYTA’s preparatory workshops.
The organisers said, “The ₦12 million over one year will be used for various purposes, including business plan development, entrepreneurial education at the Pan Atlantic University’s Enterprise Development Centre (EDC) in Lagos, Nigeria, and acceleration support through a reputable entrepreneurial hub in Lagos, Nigeria.
However, the six other businesses that made it to the finals include Goods and Services 360 Ltd (GAS360), a supply chain industry led by Jane Ekeh, Smokeless Briquettes Ltd, a Clean Technology and Energy company founded by Eunice Adewale. 10MG Pharma, a health startup led by Odianosen Joy Peter

Zendit Technologies Ltd, founded by Abiodun Falomo, offers an AI-powered app that connects MSMEs to reliable courier options, and Sanwo Technologies Ltd, a trust tech company founded by Ibrahim Oredola, is dedicated to enabling risk-free online transactions in Africa.
