From corporate events to parties, tech conferences and weddings, these eight entrepreneurs are setting new standards in Nigeria’s multi-billion naira event industry.

In a report curated by Yinka Padonu, Favour Philip and Olufunke Padonu of SmartBrands Media, these executives shared their enterpreneurship journey and talked about the Nigeria’s event industry.

The eight event entrepreneurs offered an inside look into how they are building formidable brands in one of Africa’s most competitive event industry, with client retention, operational integrity, and visionary service delivery at the heart of their growth story.

The spotlighted brands are Enoabasi Udoh-Odiagah of Selcah Luxury Events, Aminat Folawiyo Sulyman of Cupid Events, Chinenye Cynthia Itamah of PK Events International, and Adewunmi Onabote of Events by Rade.

Others are Amy Mbanefo-Arah of Melzsignature Events, Bose Lolade-Odunsi of Creative Pleasures Events, Abiola Awoyemi-Sonubi of Rarekoncepts Events, and Maryam Haruna of Chocolate Signature Events.

Operating across Lagos, Abuja, Kaduna, Kwara, and Ogun State, these professionals have proven that trust is not just a value statement but a business model.

Through transparent pricing, flexible client structures, consistent delivery, and an unwillingness to compromise on quality regardless of economic conditions, each brand has cultivated a loyal clientele base that returns, refers, and advocates strongly for them.

Their combined expertise spans luxury wedding planning, corporate event management, bespoke design and décor, vendor coordination, professional ushering, props and rentals, industry training, and mentorship.

Some of them have gone further, identifying gaps within the industry and building practical solutions around them, a mark of professionals who think beyond the brief.

No doubt, recognition has followed their consistency in the competitive industry.

Aminat noted she has clinched the Best Event Planner in Kwara State at the Kwara Vendors Awards 2024 and was honoured at the West African Talents and Entrepreneurs Awards the same year.

Chinenye disclosed she holds the Event Planner of the Year award, while Abiola has built a cross-border reputation spanning Nigeria and Ghana.

Bose further added that she brings nearly two decades of industry experience to Creative Pleasures Events, and Maryam has spent over a decade establishing Chocolate Signature Events as a premier name in Northern Nigeria.

Amy continues to set the pace for luxury event curation in Lagos, Adewunmi has built Events by Rade into a trusted name in Ogun State through seven years of principled, consistent delivery, while Enoabasi’s 14-year track record at Selcah Luxury Events, including pioneering a 24-hour props outlet serving the wider industry, remains a strong example of innovation in practice.

Collectively, these eight brands represent decades of tested and trusted industry experience, each shaped by discipline, innovation, and an uncompromising commitment to the client experience.

Visionary, innovative, and deeply intentional, these eight brands represent the gold standard of professional event practice in Nigeria. They are not following the industry’s direction. They are setting it.
