Man feared dead in Lagos over fuel purchase

Police Trust Fund seeks to equip officers for modern policing

Pandemonium struck in Obalende area of Lagos State Wednesday after a man was feared dead from a shot by an armed security officer.

The fracas started over fuel purchase at the NNPC filling station in the area, report said.

The shooter was said to have fled the incident scene immediately.

A mob, mainly consisting livid youths in the area, later burnt one security van in reaction to the shooting, eyewitnesses said.

An X user, PenEnough_ said, “I just passed there. The fuel station is in disarray.”

Nigerians have been struggling to buy fuel in the last few days. The scarcity of the fuel has led to increase in transport fare and queues at various filling station selling the product.
