Makinde approves dualisation of Ojurin-Olorunda-Abaa road at N9.6bn

OYCARES: Oyo govt brings succour to 3,300 households on social transfer delivery platforms

Seyi Makinde, the re-elected governor of Oyo State, has approved the dualisation of the Akobo-Ojurin-Olorunda Abaa/Odogbo Barracks Road by N.O. Idowu College.

The project, which would be executed by Lagelu Local Government at a cost of N9.6 billion, is expected to ameliorate the sufferings of motorists and pedestrians in the area.

In a statement signed by Joel Olaleye Ajagbe, permanent secretary, Ministry of Local Government & Chieftaincy Matters, on Friday explained that the award of the contract would be in tandem with Governor Makinde’s commitment to continue working for the people of the state till the end of his first term in office.

Governor Makinde’s administration had earlier completed the first phase of the project on the Basorun-Idi Ape-Akobo-Ojurin axis, as well as, the General Gas Flyover.

According to Ajagbe, after completion, the project will provide accessible road for the teeming populace.

It would be recalled that the governor, about two months ago, assured that his administration would award the project for the construction of the 8.3 kilometres road in Lagelu Local Government Area before the expiration of the first term of his administration.
