The Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) led by the executive chairman, Wahab Alawiye King, has organised multiple enrollment drive campaign rallies in the local government and local council development areas of the state with the support of local community leaders and influencers including celebrities.

The objective of the exercise is to ensure no child of school age is left out of the free basic education opportunity driven by Governor Sanwo Olu’s administration. Parents and communities as a whole were sensitized on the value of education, the potential impact on the lives of their children and the long-term impact it portends for Lagos State’s social and economic growth.

The primary education curriculum is powered by EKOEXCEL, an education reform programme that has recorded remarkable gains in enhancing the teacher-pupil interaction experience through the use of technology (eLearning).

Recently, the EKOEXCEL program was selected as a case study in the 2021 mEducation Alliance symposium, with education policymakers and Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) builders from across the globe, sharing good practice initiatives, promising research, and convening impactful networking around EdTech to accelerate FLN, particularly in the developing country context.

Speaking on behalf of EKOEXCEL at the summit will be none other than Wahab Olawale Alawiye–King and is slated to hold from September 28th to the 30th 2021, hosted virtually.
