Due to alleged sanitary issues, the Lagos State government has sealed the Alaba Rago market and parts of the Iyana Iba market.
When traders showed up at these marketplaces this morning (Wednesday), they were shocked to learn that representatives of the Lagos State Waste Management Authority, or LAWMA, had denied them entry.

This happened days after the closure of the Auto Spare Parts and Machinery Dealers Association (ASPAMDA) market and other markets within the Lagos International Trade Fair Complex and Alaba International Market, Ojo for the same reasons.

Other markets that have been sealed and reopened for the same reason are the Ladipo market and the Oyingbo market
