Lagos resumes registration of residents as shut LASRRA centres reopen

Lagos State government is reopening 20 of the Lagos State Residents Registration Agency’s (LASRRA) stations to the public for seamless registration of residents of the state.

The general manager of LASRRA, Ibilola Kasunmu, who disclosed this on Wednesday, in Ikeja, where the biometrics of some applicants were being captured, also urged residents of the state to visit the various LASRRA stations to register.

She said all the registration centres which had to be closed to the public to curb the spread of the coronavirus, were reopened in phases. Stations in some areas of the state will resume operations from November 12, 2020.

Kasunmu encouraged all residents to visit the agency’s website https://www.lagosresidents.gov. ng, click on the pre-enrolment portal to pre-enroll before proceeding to a station nearest to them to complete their registration process. Already registered residents with LA numbers will have the opportunity to revalidate their information by clicking the validation portal within the next few weeks.

She said residents may upload their supporting documents whilst registering/validating but will be required to show originals and photocopies of each document for verification to complete their registration at their station of choice.

Kasunmu added that registration stations are to strictly comply with all covid-19 safety regulations by enforcing the use of facemasks, maintaining a physical distance of 2 meters and operating at 50/75 percent capacity.

LASRRA is the agency of government responsible for the creation of a reliable database of all residents in Lagos to assist the state government in deploying resources for the overall development and growth of the state. LASRRA’S strategic plan is to provide a unique means of identification for access to state services and facilities, not excluding the provision of a centralised database to all MDAS for planning purposes.
