Lagos PDP chairman regains freedom after four days in captivity

Philip Aivoji, the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, has regained his freedom from kidnappers.

Aivoji was abducted by gunmen along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway a few days ago.
The PDP chieftain was released around 11pm on Sunday and was taken to his country home in Badagry to reunite with family, according to The Nation.

Hakeem Amode, the Lagos PDP publicity secretary, also confirmed Aivoji’s release in a statement released on Monday.

Amode said: “Lagos State PDP Chairman released by the Kidnappers.

“Hon Philip Olabode Aivoji the Lagos State PDP Chairman is free at last after 4 days in the Kidnappers’ den. We use this opportunity to appreciate your prayers most importantly because God’s mercies was visible all the way.

“Thank You All for your concerns and prayers.”
