A three-storey building has collapsed in the Alakija area of Lagos State, with several people feared trapped beneath the rubble as emergency responders launch rescue operations. The incident occurred around 11:40 a.m. on Thursday near the Alakija axis inward Satellite Town, causing panic among residents and passersby.

Witnesses said the building suddenly gave way while people were inside, although the exact number of occupants trapped could not be immediately confirmed. Residents and security personnel were seen working together in the initial rescue efforts before the arrival of emergency response teams.

Police operatives from the Area E Command and Satellite Division were among the first officials to arrive at the scene. Search and rescue operations have since commenced as authorities work to locate and evacuate victims from the debris.

As of the time of filing this report, there was no official confirmation of casualties or injuries. The cause of the collapse also remains unknown, with investigations expected to begin after rescue operations are concluded.
