.wants FG to come clean on relocation of FAAN, CBN offices to Lagos
Aminu Bayero, Emir of Kano, on Monday, called on Oluremi Tinubu, wife of President Bola Tinubu, to tell her husband to take urgent steps against increasing hunger, starvation, and insecurity in the country.
The emir spoke when the first lady paid him a courtesy visit to his palace in Kano.
The monarch said: “Although we have several means of communicating to the government on our needs and requests, your way and means is the surest way to tell the president the actual happenings in the country,” Bayero, told the president’s wife.
He noted that the hunger crisis has become more alarming and needed urgent intervention.
He also urged Tinubu’s wife to push the president to tackle escalating insecurity.
“The issue of insecurity is another serious problem we are facing. I know your government inherited it, but something more serious should be done to take care of the threats,” Bayero stated.
The emir touched on the Federal Government’s plan to move some offices of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) from Abuja to Lagos.
“We should be made to understand the reasons behind the relocation. I for one cannot tell the actual intentions of the government,” Bayero said.
He called on the government to “come out clean” and clearly explain the rationale behind the relocations.
The emir similarly urged the president’s wife to drive her Renewed Hope Initiative Pet Programme, designed to empower underprivileged Nigerians across the country.
