Muhammed Ali Pate, the coordinating minister of health and social welfare has disclosed that the enrolment into medical schools have been doubled from 28,000 to 64,000 annually in a bid to address the impact of the exit of Nigerian health workers.
Pate said this on Friday when he featured at the ministerial sectoral update organized by the ministry of information and national orientation.He emphasised the need to produce more health workers to serve Nigeria’s growing population by increasing he quota for admission across tertiary institutions.
He also said government is committed to training more health workers to build their capacity.
