International Workers’ Day: Abiru celebrates Nigerian workers

Southern senators meet, elect Abiru as chairman

The Chairman, Senate Committee on Industries, Distinguished Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, the Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District, has congratulated Nigerian workers on this year’s commemoration of International Workers’ Day.

Abiru, in a statement issued in Lagos on Monday, by his media aide, Enitan Olukotun saluted Nigerian workers for their immense contributions to the national productivity and overall economic, socio-political development of Nigeria.

He said, “I celebrate with esteemed Nigerian workers on the commemoration of the 2023 International Workers’ Day. Your contributions to national production and economic advancement of our dear country Nigeria are well appreciated.

“Despite challenges you face daily in the discharge of services to the people of this great nation, you have maintained utmost patriotism and loyalty to the country. I am very proud of your sense of duty, sacrifice and perseverance at all times.”

Abiru further said: “Dear Nigerian workers, I urge you to be optimistic of a renewed hope as Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Kashim Shettima take over the reins of power on May 29, 2023.

“Our collective aspiration for a better country, improved working conditions and the welfare of hardworking workers will become a reality. Once again, I wish you a happy International Workers’ Day.”

Workers’ Day is celebrated on 1st of May every year.
