Ifedayo Agoro, founder of Dang! Lifestyle, has introduced a one-year programme aimed at helping women build profitable and sustainable businesses across West Africa.

Agoro said the initiative was designed in response to gaps she observed in short-term training formats. According to her, many programmes fail to deliver lasting results because they do not allow enough time for growth and adjustment.

“Real businesses develop in layers. You cannot build something that lasts in 4 or 8 weeks,” she said.

The programme focuses on key areas such as mindset, business structure, product development, pricing, and systems. Agoro explained that participants are guided through each stage with a focus on clarity and execution.

She noted that many women encounter similar challenges when starting or scaling businesses. These include waiting to feel “ready”, setting low prices due to self-doubt, and avoiding financial records. The programme addresses these issues early by emphasising business models, money discipline, and consistent action.

To broaden learning, Agoro has invited business leaders including Femi Oladehin, Professor Tom, and Ibukun Awosika to share insights with participants.

“The real transformation is not just knowledge, but elevated thinking. There’s no way you go back to running your business casually after this programme,” she said.

Agoro added that a shift in mindset remains a key outcome. Many participants move from asking “Do I like this?” or “Am I confident enough?” to focusing on results and action.

The programme includes monthly assignments, workbooks, and live sessions to ensure accountability. Agoro said this structure helps participants remain committed to their goals.

She advised women who feel limited by time, funding, or confidence to take immediate steps.

“Start where you are. If you don’t have money, start with something that generates cash quickly. If you don’t have confidence, act anyway — confidence comes with habit and experience.”

Agoro concluded, “Most people don’t have a business problem. They have a mindset problem. Until that changes, you’ll always run around in circles.”
