Boroffice who spoke during his condolence visit to Pa Reuben Fasoranti, Afenifere leader, whose daughter, Funke Olakunrin was killed on Friday by gunmen said something urgent must be done to end the growing insecurity in the state.
He said: “The government which I’m part of should find a solution to this problem, the ordinary people in Ondo State will still carry out their businesses, so you can’t ask them not to go out, In the senate I belong to, we discuss this issue of insecurity on regular basis.
“I’m here in Akure now, I would have love to go to Oka Akoko,my hometown within my senatorial district but the fear is that how do I move from Akure to Oka-Akoko because their is a spot near Oba- Akoko where these people (kidnappers) are, so it concerned everybody.
“So it’s not something that people feel unconcerned about, we are all concerned and I believe there is something going on on how to  find a solution to this problem.”
Boroffice ,who represents Ondo North district at the Senate condemned the gruesome killing of the deceased and expressed optimism that security agencies would fish out the killers within shortest possible time.
“The growing spate of insecurity in the South West region and other parts of Nigeria is quite worrisome.
“However, the senator is aware security agencies are working hard to curb the unfortunate trend. It is also understandable that security agencies cannot announce all efforts to the public for security reasons.
“Furthermore, all security agencies are urged to harmoniously work together towards finding sustainable solutions to insecurity issues in the South West and other parts of the Country.
” On behalf of the Senate, the Deputy Senate Leader wishes to identify with Pa Reuben Fasoranti and commiserate with the entire Fasoranti family over the murder of Mrs Funke Olakunrin. May God grant the family the fortitude to bear this huge loss,” Kayode Fakuyi, his media aide quoted him in a statement.
Olakunrin, 58, was murdered along Benin-Ore highway while returning to Lagos after visiting her father in Akure, Ondo state capital, on Friday.
