Gunmen suspected to be armed herdsmen and bandit left a trail of death and kidnappings after a series of violent attacks in Benue, Zamfara, Kebbi, and Nasarawa.
Benue State:
In Benue State, armed herdsmen struck Ayilamo and Mbachohon communities in Logo and Gwer West Local Government Areas, leaving nine dead and many injured. The attackers, heavily armed, launched a terrifying assault, injuring many and causing panic among the residents.
Nasarawa State:
A medical doctor tragically lost his life when gunmen attacked the Awe Local Government Area of Nasarawa State. The violence erupted when the doctor was returning from his farm on a motorcycle.
Zamfara State:
In an attack on the Bagega community of Zamfara State, armed bandits killed at least three people, injured 11, and kidnapped the district head, his young daughter, and several others. The attackers, riding motorcycles, fired several gunshots on the community, forcing residents to flee.
Kebbi State:
Armed bandits raided Tilli village in Kebbi State, claiming the lives of two individuals and kidnapping three more. The Commissioner of Police, CP Chris Wane, mobilized law enforcement to address the situation and rescue the victims.

Lagos State:
In Lagos suburbs, a criminal gang attempted to kidnap a man in the Gowon Estate area. While the victim managed to escape, his abductors shot him in the leg and kidnapped his brother. The incident adds to the security concerns in areas like Idimu, Ikotun, Gowon Estate, and Igando, where residents have been on high alert due to a series of abductions, Vanguard reported.

He emphasised their responsibility to protect Nigerians from criminal elements, stating that the Air Force had received new air assets to enhance their operations in countering insurgents, terrorists, and other threats.
