Governorship aspirant mourns ex-Senate president’s wife

Beneficiaries of Gregory Ibe’s free medical scheme celebrate in Abia

Gregory Ibe, Abia State governorship contender and chancellor of Gregory University Uturu, has commiserated with Adolph Wabara, former Senate president over the demise of his wife, Felicia Wabara, after a protracted illness.

Ibe, while speaking during the condolence visit to Wabara at his country home, Ohambele, Ndoki, Ukwa East Local Government Area of Abia State, described the death of Wabara’s wife as “shocking and destabilising.”

He however, encouraged the former Senate president to bear the irreparable loss with stoic equanimity. He noted that the indelible legacies she left behind would continue to serve as source of consolation.

Ibe enjoined Wabara and members of his family to “look unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith even as Christians all over the world are commemorating death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.”

While responding, Wabara thanked God for the life of his late wife, acknowledging that both life and death are the exclusive preserve of God who alone gives and takes life by his sovereignty.

He appreciated Ibe for coming on a short notice to share in their grief and commiserate with entire people of Ukwa clan and prayed God to reward him. The late Felicia Wabara was 69 years old.
