Ismaila Uba Misilli, the Director-General, press affairs to the state governor, said the company handling the project was already constructing different sizes of stormwater channels to see off the immense run-off being experienced during the rainy season with a view to mitigating the effect of gullies in and around the university and other neighboring communities.

According to Misilli, the development of gullies is one of the severe environmental problems in Gombe, threatening its urban infrastructure, lives, property and physical growth.
