Future of Payments and Fraud: BusinessDay to champion payment and security discussion

BusinessDay Media Limited today announces its plans to host over 1000 delegates online and onsite at the Future of Payments and Fraud Conference 2022 to be held, May 12, 2022 at the Four Points Hotel by Sheraton, Lagos State.

The annual conference will curate a one day rallying ground for the industry crème de la crème to focus on the following: future of payments, the Central Bank Digital Currency, fraud mitigation– the industry’s most pressing challenge.

Experts say the impact of fraud is a major hindrance to the growth of electronic payment in the country and the world at large. A report by Michael McGuire, senior lecturer in criminology at Surrey University stated that globally, cybercriminals rake in at least $1.5 trillion every year, which means over one million dollars is lost every minute to cybercrime.

It therefore comes as no surprise that industry stakeholders are concerned on how to ensure an effective, swift, and well-orchestrated response to cyber-attacks. This is why the 2022 conference objective is to collectively assess and streamline the impact of fraud on the industry and come up with a strategic approach that will prevent similar or further attacks.

The conference is sponsored by Bundle Africa, Ethnos IT Solutions Ltd, LeatherBack, Flutterwave and ZirooPay. With Industry Partners such as Association of Licensed Mobile Operators of Nigeria (ALMPO), Fintech Association of Nigeria, Open Banking Nigeria, Association of Chief Audit Executives of Banks in Nigeria, Stakeholders in Blockchain Technology Association of Nigeria and TechEconomy as a media partner.
