Four members of the House of Representatives from Kano have defected from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The lawmakers are Sani Wakili, representing Minjibir/Ungogo federal constituency, Muktar Zakari, representing Tarauni federal constituency, Umar Datti, representing Kura/Madobi/Garun Mallam federal constituency, and Abdulhakeem Ado, representing Wudil/Garko federal constituency.

Their defection was conveyed in separate letters read by Tajudeen Abbas, speaker of the house during plenary on Wednesday.

Furthermore, Kabiru Amadu, representing Gusau/Tsafe federal constituency of Zamfara state, and Emeka Chinedu of Ahiazu Mbaise/Ezinihitte federal constituency also moved from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The Lawmakers cited persistent unresolved internal crisis in their former parties as the reasons for their defection.
