Fintiri flags-off construction sports complex in Adamawa

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has flagged off construction of the first phase of abandoned ultramodern International Sports Complex in Yola.

It is a project conceived with the best of intention but abandoned by the successive administrations and because of its importance to youths development, formed the basis of its completion by the Ahmadu Fintiri’s administration.

Speaking on the construction of the Sports Complex, Governor Fintiri said that the Sports Complex would boost sporting activities in the State and provide a right ground to harness the talent of youths.

He emphasized that “the era of going to the neighboring States to play games by Adamawa Sportsmen and women is over as the State will henceforth host other contingents from across the Country when the project is completed.

While noting that Sports is indeed a multifortune industry and the opportunities are boundless calling on business communities to invest in it, having provided the necessary enablers.

Wali Yakubu, Commissioner of Youths and Sports, said the project, which costs N4.7 billion, has a fifteen months timeframe, asking the contractor to ensure the work is executed according to the specification.

The representative of the contracting firm, Mssr Aron Nigeria Limted, thanked Governor Fintiri for giving attention to what he described as a legacy project and assured its completion within the timeframe.

Justine Madugu, Coach of Super Falcons of Nigeria, thanked Governor Fintiri for flagging off the project, saying its impact would cover Nigeria and beyond, as well as empower youths and women.
