The Federal Government has launched a coordinated manhunt for criminal syndicates allegedly attempting to defraud job seekers involved in the ongoing recruitment exercise into paramilitary agencies under the Ministry of Interior.
According to a statement issued on Wednesday by Abdulmalik Jibrin, Secretary of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), the syndicates are falsely claiming to offer job placements in exchange for payments, targeting desperate applicants eager to join any of the four paramilitary agencies supervised by the Board.
Jibrin warned that these criminal elements have gone as far as creating fake recruitment websites that closely mimic the official portal in a bid to deceive unsuspecting members of the public.

“The Board wishes to reiterate that all stages of its recruitment process do not attract payment of any fee.
“The authentic portal address for the application process remains https://recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng”, the statement emphasised.
He added that relevant security agencies have been alerted and are actively tracking members of the syndicates behind the fraudulent scheme, with a view to arresting and prosecuting them.

The CDCFIB urged applicants to remain vigilant and avoid falling victim to job scammers, stressing that no individual or third party has been authorised to collect money or act as an intermediary in the recruitment process.
“All candidates seeking to be enlisted into any of the four Paramilitary Services of their choice are requested to take note of the Board’s portal address highlighted to avoid being scammed,” the statement noted.
The ongoing recruitment covers the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), Federal Fire Service (FFS), and Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS).
